Lara has over 15 years of experience in Europe and the United States, working across a broad array of building typologies, with expertise in high-performance buildings and commercial design. Lara's work covers buildings with a range of programming from historic brownstone high-performance retrofits to ground-up affordable housing to retail design.
At MAP, Lara is involved in all phases of design and construction and manages several of the firm’s significant senior and specialized housing projects with a strong emphasis on sustainability. Lara's current work includes construction management for a new affordable/supportive building with 316 permanent units and 106 shelter units and design for 1931 Lafayette, a 228-unit affordable/supportive development. They also led construction administration for the recently completed Rheingold Senior Residence, a new 94-unit affordable senior housing development designed to Passive House standards in Brooklyn.
