Sunset Park Library development is an eight-story, 49-unit mixed-use project in Sunset Park. The project was recently approved by Community Board 7 and continues through the ULURP process .
The new building will feature Brooklyn Public Library’s new Sunset Park branch, a 21,000 sf two story space within the affordable building which replaces the current single-story Sunset Park library branch. A large glass corner facade will bring natural light into reading and learning spaces. Above 49 affordable rental residential units, ranging from studios to three-bedrooms, and one super’s unit will bring much needed affordable housing to the neighborhood.
Developed by Fifth Avenue Committee and the Brooklyn Public Library, Magnusson Architecture and Planning has worked with BPL on initial programming studies for the interior fit out of the library space.
