In response to the New York City Housing Authority’s Re-Vision Prospect Plaza Request for Proposals, the Kinsgbridge Village Crossing development team proposed a mixed-use development consisting of 4 buildings with a total of 378 units of housing, community facility space, retail space, public open space and parking.
Three of the residential buildings are home to 281 of the units in a range of studio, one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom units. Twenty-seven of those units area town-house style duplexes offering a separate street-level entrance. The fourth building is made up of the remaining 97 units, as well as the 12,500 square foot community facility space. This mixed-use building and adjacent park create a vibrant new center of activity for all residents in the community by providing a community facility with multi-purpose, youth-centric functionality, and up to 21,400 square feet for retail uses, including a fresh foods grocery store and a pharmacy. The built area on the site is linked via a landscaped green ramp to the park, which will be the home of an urban agriculture program, and recreation space.
The proposed development will be built to the highest sustainability standards, including a LEED-Homes Midrise Platinum certification and NYSERDA Energy Star and Enterprise Green Communities compliance.
