MAP Volunteering Program in 2018

The MAP Volunteer Program has been able to connect MAP staff, friends and family to the residents who live in some of the buildings we designed and are provided services by many of our clients. It brings together our communities to rebuild, improve or just engage for a day.

Lisa Rondon, Senior Associate and Director of Administration, had a vision in mid-2015 about giving back to the communities we serve through volunteer activities. It was a challenge to coordinate all the activities on her own and engage the staff to participate. The process was off to a slow start in early 2016, but when Juliet Stams, Administrative Assistant joined MAP in July 2016 she expressed an interest almost immediately. At that point, the two actively worked on planning a strategy to put together an effort seasonally or as often as possible. In combination of expressed interest in participating, and the desire to share our vision and mission on social media, Elizabeth Candela, Director of Marketing and Business Development joined the growing committee. During the summer of 2018, Julie Chou, Associate, also expressed a real interest in becoming more actively involved and has added to the planning efforts in-house and participated in many efforts this year.

The planning and logistics of each activity require quite a bit of coordination and attention to detail.  As a result, Juliet and Lisa lead these efforts with great commitment and enthusiasm.  They work hard to make sure everyone has a positive and enlightening experience and that all participants are enjoying the day together!
