MAP receives three Brick in Architecture Design Awards.
We are so proud to announce that three of our projects received 2017 Brick in Architecture awards!
The Mill at Middletown in Middletown, Orange County, New York received a Gold in the category of Renovations/Restorations. Schoolhouse Terrace, the first Phase of the redevelopment of Cottage Gardens in Yonkers, NY received a Bronze in Multi-Family Housing and our Mixed-Use Residential building for Columbia University received a Bronze in the Multifamily Housing category.
See the official announcement here.
The Mill was completed in late 2016 and has been occupied with tenants since October 2016. The residence is a combination of a restored and gut renovated historic textile mill, and a stick frame addition. The building contain 42 affordable apartments with large windows, a community room, and a future cafe at the ground floor of the Mill building. The original chimney stack was restored and maintained on site, and a single outbuilding was converted into a community room.
Some of the tenants once worked at the Mill when it was in service and now live in this important regional historic site.
