Christine M. Hunter Promoted to Principal at Magnusson Architecture and Planning
Magnusson Architecture and Planning, PC (MAP) has announced the promotion of Christine M. Hunter, AIA to the position of Principal. Ms. Hunter joined MAP in 2004, and has extensive experience in design, programming, project management, and historical and technical research.
A LEED-certified professional, she is focusing particularly on the sustainable design aspects of the firm’s housing and related neighborhood facilities. She has been project manager for several projects in the award-winning Melrose Commons development in the Bronx, which was recently selected for the new LEED for Neighborhood Development Pilot Program. Currently she is also managing the design of mixed-use housing developments in Staten Island and in Rockland County for both families and seniors.
Immediately prior to joining Magnusson Architects & Planners, Ms. Hunter was an Associate with the firm of Beyer Blinder Belle. A graduate of Yale College with a Masters in Architecture from Columbia University, Ms. Hunter is the author and co-illustrator of Ranches, Rowhouses & Railroad Flats, a formal and historical study of American housing types published in 1999 by W. W. Norton & Co.
