Planning
At MAP, we practice a user and community-based approach to planning. We think of our approach as 'bottom up' planning versus 'top down' planning. The ideas and inspirations for our plans have origins in the ideas, inspirations, and needs of the user we are designing for. Through conversation, we help our clients form a physical plan that is reflective of their mission statements, goals and principles.

Research, Analysis
Comprehensive planning studies, documentation, research and analysis form the basis of any sound project. Among the types of studies we undertake for our clients are feasibility studies, needs assessments, zoning analysis, and land-use studies. We also provide urban planning and design for community groups, municipalities, public agencies and large scale developments.

Pre-Design Services
In addition to thorough research and analysis, we can provide our clients with a number of other pre-design services which are necessary before the design of any project is undertaken. We conduct property evaluations, code and zoning reviews, and programming studies as well as assist with creating budgets and schedules.

Full Architectural Services
Once the feasibility of a project is determined and the program is set, as a fully licensed architectural firm, we provide a full range of architectural design services. During the early schematic design , we determine the design approach and develop conceptual designs, refine the designs through the design development phase, and then prepare complete specifications and construction documents. Throughout the entire design process, we work closely with our clients to develop cost estimates and refine budget and maintenance schedules. We are also asked to work with teams of other designers, engineers and construction professionals to develop projects.

Interior Design
As interior designers, we can provide our clients with a full range of services to meet their interior design needs. We provide space needs analysis, space planning, selection of furniture, fixtures and finishes, custom millwork, cabinetry, and lighting design

Construction Services
We can provide a range of construction services for our clients. As the client's representative, we can provide construction administration services throughout the construction phase of a project. We can assist with the bid process, reviewing bids from contractors and subcontractors and aiding in the negotiating process. As part of the construction administration phase, we review shop drawings, observe installations and create punch lists. We provide expediting services to obtain proper agency approvals and can assist and coordinate move-ins. Finally, when construction is complete, we can provide as-built record drawings for our client.

Consultation
We are available for consultation during any phase of any project. These services may include planning, design review, building department consulting, equipment planning, artwork and signage services. We can collaborate with other design firms, designing one or many aspects of the the job, coordinate a particular phase or service, or consult on design or planning issues. We may also be hired by a client or agency to maintain quality control and work as an advocate on their behalf.
