As enrollment at their Bronx satellite campus began to expand beyond the capabilities of their buildings and their facilities became outdated, Mercy College approached Magnusson Architecture and Planning to assist in locating a new facility and developing the architectural program and design. The search led to a building that had recently been vacated by the NYS Department of Mental Health and whose original, award-winning design was done by Richard Meir Architects. After Mercy College acquired the building, MAP redesigned the interior spaces to fit with the building’s new program and intended use.
