Magnusson Architecture and Planning provided planning and design services for the Dermatology Center of New York, a state-of-the-art dermatology office featuring the latest laser technology, a fully equipped treatment/procedure room and four examination rooms.
A major goal was to design an outpatient facility, which allowed the staff and physicians to work together as efficiently and effectively as possible while promoting a professional atmosphere. One guiding element in the design was the patient's first impression of the doctor's office. The experience of entering the lobby, speaking to the receptionist, sitting in the waiting room, and eventually moving on to the exam room all must convey a feeling of well being, competence, and professionalism. The design of the office reflects this atmosphere, meeting the expectations of the clientele as well as personal preferences of the doctor.
